This building is the only remaining *honjin* (official lodging) from the Edo period, where feudal lords (daimyo) stayed during their *sankin-kotai* journeys, among the post stations that once existed along the Tokaido and Koshu routes. It is a magnificent and authentic traditional Japanese structur
